PURPOSE
Each year Montana PTA awards a limited number of tuition scholarships. We offer financial
assistance to Montana residents who are high school seniors or college students that need
additional help in obtaining a bachelor’s degree toward the goal of becoming an elementary or
secondary school teacher in the Montana public school system. The scholarship may be used at
any Montana college or university that trains teachers. The scholarship is a non-renewable
$1,000 merit award; however, winners may re-apply the next year.

A copy of the applicant’s high school/college transcripts, and
Two letters of reference: one of which is from a personal reference and one from a
teacher or school administrator

- A Montana resident graduating from a Montana public high school, attending a Montana public college or university that trains teachers .
- Pursuing a career as a primary or secondary teacher attending a Montana public college or university .
- Must have an average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) or better .
- Either the applicant or guardian must be a current member of a local PTA unit or the Treasure STATE PTA associated with Montana PTA.
