The Department of Social Anthropology is offering four year
postdoctoral research fellowship in the field of Social Anthropology.
One scholarship is offered for Norwegian students. Applicants must hold a
PhD or equivalent in social anthropology as well as must have good
spoken and written command of a Scandinavian language and/or
English. The application deadline is 15th March 2013.

Eligibility: -Applicants
must hold a PhD or equivalent in social anthropology. The main purpose
of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work
in top academic positions within their disciplines.
-Applicants must have good spoken and written command of a Scandinavian language and/or English.
-Applicants must provide a project description including a progress plan (no more than 10 pages) outlining the work to be undertaken for their proposed project. The project description must include the theme of the project, issues to be examined, the chosen theoretical and methodological approach, publication plan and an overall individual schedule for the four year period (with reference to the schedule for the Anthropos and the Material, Challenges to Anthropology project).

three core areas: domestication practices, ritual practices and economic
practices. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the
research within the overall project, and through the role as coordinator
(see immediately below), contribute to and participate in research
activities at the Department. 25 % of the position will be dedicated to
coordination of the overall project, but this part might also include
general teaching, supervision and examination at the Department.
