The topic of the Ph.D. thesis
will be on the use of modern mass spectrometric methods in bioanalysis.
Depending on the interests and background of the successful candidate,
this can include the analysis of very large molecules and molecular
assemblies, using high-mass MALDI-MS, the investigation of noncovalent
interaction by native electrospray MS, or the application of MS methods
to single-cell analysis. The project is funded by an “initial training
network” (ITN) grant from the EU, CHEBANA.
Prerequisites:
M.Sc. degree, Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry or related area,
strong background in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, or
biochemistry. Trans-national mobility is a key requirement for filling
this position, i.e., applicants with a Swiss degree cannot apply.
