Germany : PhD position-Molecular Nutrition

The Institute of Human Nutrition and Food Science (Research Group of Molecular Nutrition) at Kiel University (CAU), Germany, is offering a   PhD Position (m/f)

funded by a grant of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft starting April 2013 for at first two years. The salary corresponds to level 13 TV-L (50%) of the German public service salary scale.
The research of the study group Molecular Nutrition focuses on anti-inflammatory and chemo-protective effects of various secondary plant metabolites including elucidation of the underlying molecular mechanisms. In the offered doctoral project the effects of
isothiocyanates on inflammation should be investigated in detail by applying molecular biology and cell biology based methods.

The applicant should hold an excellent Master or Diploma degree in Life Sciences (nutritional sciences, biology, human biology, biochemistry or similar) and should offer laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology. The successful candidate should be interested in scientific research, should have a high level of motivation and should be able to work in a team. Good communication skills as well as a good knowledge of the English language are
expected.
