Germany : PhD Candidate in the Economics

The Department for Economics at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, Germany, is looking
for a PhD Candidate (50%, TV-L E13) in the Economics of the Energy Transition for three years (extension possible).

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, excellent student with a master (or comparable) degree in economics or related fields and a background in environment or energy or institutional economics. The person is willing and able to contribute to research on the German “Energiewende” in an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements are an excellent degree and proficiency in English and German. Familiarity with
energy policy or climate policy would be a plus. It would be a further asset if candidates have
experience with one of the following: economic models, or game theory, or regulatory economics.
