Chinese Government Scholarships for International Students

Brief description:
The Chinese Government Scholarship Scheme awards scholarships in China for international students. It is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars.
Host Institution(s):
International student applicants for the China Scholarship Program shall choose their host institutions and subjects from the Chinese Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the Program. Please check the  Directory of the Chinese Institutions and see which Universities participate in the Chinese Government Scholarship Program.
Field(s) of study:
The scholarship program covers a wide range of studies accredited by Chinese HEIs under the program.
Target group:
The scholarships are for international students wishing to study in China.
Scholarship value/inclusions:
Full Scholarship*
• Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, fee for internship, and fee for basic learning materials; free accommodation on campus;
•  Living allowance;
•  One-off settlement subsidy after registration;
•  Fee for outpatient medical service, Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China;
•  One-off inter-city travel subsidy.

Partial Scholarship
One or several items of full scholarship (one-off settlement subsidy and one-off inter-city travel allowance excluded).
Eligibility:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2. Education background and age limit:
•  Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma with good academic performance and be under the age of 25.
•  Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
•  Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
•  Applicants for Chinese training program must have senior high school diploma and be under the age of 35, Chinese language is the only subject available.
•  Applicants for general scholar program must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study and be under the age of 45, all subjects besides Chinese language are available.
•  Applicants for senior scholar program must have master’s degree or above, or hold academic titles of associate professor or above, and be under the age of 50.
Application instructions:
Applicants shall apply to Chinese diplomatic missions or dispatching authorities between January and April every year. Applicants shall consult the dispatching authorities about details on the application period and procedures.

China : University of Nottingham China-Masters scholarships

University of Nottingham China - Masters scholarships for international students

There are approximately 12 scholarships available for postgraduate applicants and the amount on offer is as follows:

30,000 RMB per person, for full-time master's students (first year fees only).

Students who would like to apply for this scholarship will need to prepare the following documents and submit to the Recruitment & Admissions Office by 31st May 2013:

- An application for a masters course at the University of Nottingham in China

- A scholarship application form

- Personal statement (500 words)

China : PhD Positions at DUT Phone Lab

The Mobile and Social Computing Laboratory at Dalian University of Technology (DUT Phone Lab) conducts interdisciplinary, application- driven academic research in mobile and social computing. The Lab now has 30+ members, including 10+ PhD students (from seven countries on this planet!). We are working on various hot topics in mobile social computing, network science, and cyber-physical systems, with focus on e.g. Social Network Analysis, Ad Hoc Social Networks, Smart Communities and Systems, Emotion, Memory, and Storytelling.
We are opening 2 PhD student positions in mobile and social computing. All positions will be coupled to full Chinese Government Scholarships. Basic living allowance will be 2,000 RMB/month, plus Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit. The scholarships are exempt from registration fee, tuition, and fee for basic learning materials. Accommodation on campus  will be provided for free. The University will offer excellent working conditions.

Supervisor: Associate Professor Feng XIA Working location: Dalian University of Technology @ Dalian, China Starting date: September 2013
PhD duration: 3-4 years

Qualifications
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2. Applicants must be students who study in foreign countries.
3. Applicants shall have a master's degree in related discipline.
4. Applicants must be under the age of 40.
5. A good command of the English language (in speaking and in writing)
is required.
6. Research experience in related areas is a plus.

Before submitting the full application (to the University), each potential applicant should first send an initial application via email to Dr. Feng Xia (f.xia@ieee.org). The application should include a detailed CV (including email addresses of two referees), a brief statement of research experience and interests (in one page), and two best scientific documents/publicati ons written by yourself (in English). The deadline for applications is 1 February 2013. Only a few
candidates will be shortlisted for full application. Interested applicants are highly encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. We will not accept applications once the positions are fulfilled.
