UK : UEA Marshal Papworth Scholarships for Students of Developing Countries

University of East Anglia offers Marshal Papworth Masters Scholarships in the Agriculture and Rural Development and Environment and International Development. UEA offers up to five scholarships for students of developing countries. The value of scholarship varies from £12,000 to £17,000. The basis of selection is academic excellence. Students to whom the School has made an offer are automatically considered for this award. Students must have English proficiency and notified by the admissions department.

The School is pleased to invite applications from outstanding candidates for six Masters Scholarships for 2013-2014 entry. These six awards will cover tuition fees (at the applicable Home/EU or Overseas rate) and a total stipend of 5,000, payable in equal monthly
installments.

Eligibility



Applicants for these awards must have a study application in process. Masters scholarships are open to all applicants for the Schools MSc degrees in History, Classics and Archaeology, whether taught or research, and including part-time applicants and applicants for
Masters degrees by Distance Learning.

Successful applicants are likely to hold or be on course to achieve a UK first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field. Successful applicants are also likely to demonstrate that their plans for the Masters are part of a programme of study leading to a PhD.

UK : Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford for International Students

Brief description:
The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting exceptional all-round students at the University of Oxford.   Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship program in the world.

Rhodes Scholars come from many academic backgrounds and pursue a wide variety of courses at Oxford.  The scholarship is more accurately viewed as an investment in a person of remarkable promise than support for a particular course of study.

There are very few restrictions on the full-time post-graduate degrees supported by Rhodes Scholarships and these are found here. UK 10 PhD Studentships in Synthetic Chemistry (Biological / Inorganic / Organic)

The EPSRC funded DTC in Chemical Synthesis is a well established research centre based in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol.

We train the next generation of synthetic chemists - future leaders of the UK chemical industry and academe. Our graduates will be equipped with enhanced team-working and problem-solving skills that will enable them to successfully address the full range of molecular-based problems of the future.

UK : Marie Curie PhD Fellowships in Bioanalytical Science

The University of Warwick is seeking to recruit 13 early career researchers from all science backgrounds to PhD Fellowships in INTEGRATIVE THEORETICAL and EXPERIMENTAL ANALYTICAL SCIENCE. This is an exciting transformative PhD opportunity.

The goal of the Centre for Analytical Science Innovative Doctoral Programme (CAS-IDP) is to deliver world-leading analytical science research under two multi-disciplinary themes:
  1. Predictive modelling of bacterial cell division and
  2. ‘Quality by Design’ of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products.

These fellowships are designed for non-UK (see eligibility) early career researchers (ESRs) wishing to undertake a PhD commencing in September 2013.

FUNDING:
is for 3 years at approximately €62,000 pa including mobility allowance (paid in GBP, subject to UK tax deductions)

The work will be carried out as part of a European Marie Curie Initial Training Network that involves regular meetings and timely delivery of results. Fellows will visit and collaborate (in secondments) with both academic and industrial partners. They will also participate in a series of planned training events and workshops covering topics such as team working and leadership, business, intellectual property, industrial biotechnology, and science communication.

Applicants must have less than 4 years research experience (defined from the end of a first degree). Applicants must not have resided or carried their main activity in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to recruitment.
