USA : Bank Scholarship Program for US Citizens

U.S. Bank offers undergraduate scholarship program for USA students in USA. Students must be a high school senior planning to enroll in or enrolled by September 2013. Applicant must be a current undergraduate college student at an eligible two or four-year college or university and US citizen. Winners will be selected at random. The scholarship covers financial aid of 40 $1,000 scholarships. Scholars will be notified by mid June 2013.

USA : Samuel H. Kress Graduate Art History Fellowships

Although actively engaged in the digitalization of the Medici Granducal Archive at the Archivio di Stato di Firenze, MAP remains a strong advocate of giving scholars direct access to original documents. Thanks to the generous support of Samuel H. Kress Foundation, MAP is offering fellowships for graduate students to join MAP in Florence, Italy, toundertake specialized archival research on-site at the Archivio di Stato, utilizing the collection of the Medici Granducal Archive. The Samuel H. Kress Graduate Art History Fellowships will provide graduate students from diverse disciplines with the opportunity to examine and study original source materials, while receiving scholarly guidance from MAP Staff.
A Summer 2013 Fellowship,covering a period of two-and-a-half months, is for $5,000 (plus $500 for travel expenses). The Summer 2013. Fellowship must take place within the period extending from May 1 to July 15 2013.
A Fall Semester 2013 Fellowship, covering a period of three-and-a-half months, is for $8,500 (plus $500 for travel expenses). The Fall Semester 2013 Fellowship must take place within the period from September 1 to December 15, 2013. 
Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in graduate programs at United States universities, and working on dissertation topics that treat any aspect of Italian Renaissance or Baroque art history; Tuscan art history topics will be given preference.
Details:
If the timing is feasible, Fellows will take part free of charge in our online paleography course 
before arriving in Florence. Further training in reading documents and using archival sources will be available through our archival studies seminar at Santa Maria Novella in June of 2013, as well as through the daily contact with MAP Staff during the course of the Fellows’ tenure. Fellows will be also encouraged to participate in a variety of MAP initiatives, including its upcoming conferences.

USA : Post Doctorate: Mechanical Engineering, Micro- Bio-Fluid Mechanics

The Micro Scale Thermo Fluids (MSTF) Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) invites applications for post doctorate positions in the field of Micro- bio-Fluid Mechanics. This is a full-time positions; the initial appointment will be for one year that can be extended up to three years. TAMUQ is a branch campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Micro fluidic research includes setting up and conducting experiments to develop computational fluid modeling and visualization techniques for the design of novel microfluidic sensing platform for microbial electrolysis cells (MEC). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, preparing and constructing appropriate experimental setups and tending to all aspects of the daily operation. Publishing in scientific conferences and journals are strongly encouraged.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who have extensive experimental experience in micro-fluidics or bio-fluidics. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a faculty for conducting experimental research and interacting with academia and industry. In addition to traditional laboratory equipment, the candidate should be comfortable in operating data acquisition, optical microscope, high speed camera, and laser systems.

Minimum education requirement is a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have expertise in the experimental fluid mechanics with research experience at micro scale and supercritical flow studies. Experience with computer programming and data processing algorithms is preferable. Highly qualified candidate with Masters Degree may be considered.

The UN-Nippon Fellowship Programme is funded by The Nippon Foundation of Japan and implemented by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DAOLOS), with the assistance of the Training and Fellowships Section of the United Nations Division for Economic and Social Affairs.
The main objective of the fellowship is to provide opportunities for advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines including marine science, to Government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing coastal States, so that they may obtain the necessary knowledge to assist their countries to formulate comprehensive ocean policy and to implement the legal regime set out in UNCLOS and related instruments.

This includes marine sciences and the science-policy linkage. Your “Nomination and Recommendation Form” should be completed by a Government official who can attest to the nature of your work with respect to the Government’s ocean affairs and law of the sea related activities, and indicate how an Award would directly contribute to these activities; and
•  Your proposed research and study programme must contribute directly to your nation’s formulation and/or implementation of ocean affairs and law of the sea policies and programmes.
